Lesson 3

Assignment

  1. Decide what type of podcast you want to do
  2. I wanted to build on the file I used for Lesson 2, so I chose "personal" as the type.

  3. The podcast should have an Intro, one segment, and an ending and be 2-3 minutes in length
  4. It has an Intro, one segment, and an ending and is 3 minutes in length.

  5. Use the effects we learned about in this lesson
  6. I used Timeshift, fade-in and fade-out, Noise Removal, Normalize, and Amplify.

  7. Make sure the file is around 2 MB and no more than 3 MB
  8. It is ~ 4 MB, and I don't know how to make it smaller. The Intro is 8 seconds and includes a song; segment is 127 seconds, the ending is in two parts with a song lasting 22 seconds total, and a credits section of 38 seconds.

  9. Put the parts together in Audacity and end up with 3 tracks
  10. I didn't finish reading this until I had the file done. I put everything on one track. I revised it to make two tracks with one song as the second track.

  11. Export the file with ID3 Info as an MPG file.
  12. This is done.

  13. Add album art
  14. This is done.

  15. Back up the work
  16. This is done.

  17. Post the podcast on the class web site
  18. This is done.

  19. Post a link to the podcast in the discussion board
  20. This is the link Reflections of Swaziland - Episode 3.
